Ceiling Mounts in Singapore: A Checklist to Consider

Installing a ceiling mount provides the benefits of decluttering a room visually from messy cables, as well as protecting your equipment in the long run as they are out of reach from people.

Technical Specifications
The technical specifications of your television or projector would influence the installation setup of your ceiling mount. To determine them, you’ll need to know:
Size and weight of your TV/Projector: Check your TV or projector model’s specification online or from the accompanying manual, as this affects your choice of mounts.
Optimal viewing distance & eye-level height for the TV/Projector: You’ll want to make sure that everyone in the room, no matter how big or small, would be able to view the projected content without straining their eyes from where they are seated or standing. A rule of thumb is to sit between 1.5 to 2.5 times the diagonal screen measurement away at an estimate of 30-degree viewing angle. Be sure to factor in the furniture that you may intend to place beneath your mounted TV/projector – always ensure that there is sufficient space!

Depending on your needs, there are a variety of ceiling mounts for TV/Projectors that are suitable for different purposes. Here are some variations:
Rotating ceiling mounts: For TVs, rotating ceiling mounts allow you to swivel the TV in any direction — some up to 360 degrees – so you can watch from anywhere in the room; therefore, giving you greater flexibility.
Extendable ceiling mounts: For projectors, some ceiling mounts allow you to lift and lower the equipment either manually or with a remote, such that the height of the ceiling won’t be an issue. An instance where this would be useful could be if the layout of your room changes on a regular basis/
